Venus Pool - Black-tailed Godwit

Not the first for the year but certainly the showiest, for a short while anyway! This juvenile Black-tailed Godwit dropped in mid-morning and stuck resolutely on one of the small islands in the middle of the pool. During the afternoon it relocated to the island in fron of the Memorial hide and I had a gut feeling it would have a walk round??

And it did!! So all the earlier distant shots were deleted apart from this wingflap shot....

I predicted '...to come from the left' so it arrived from the right.....

Who cares, coming closer all the time!

Oh for a darker (green would be nice) background!! The white water was so irritating!

A quick stop for a preen

Who you looking at!

I nearly got the green background as cloud cover thickened!

But then, just as it entered the 'green zone' a Coot chased it away!!

Farewell shot!

And a quirky close up to end with :-)

Keep em waders coming.......
