Whixall Moss - White faced Darter

Having eluded me last year and remaining imageless from the previous Friday, returning to the very breezy Whixall Moss gave me the subject I'd been looking for. 'Only' a female but they all count.....

Getting a little closer.....

Quite a few Four-spotted Chasers on the wing too!

Large-red Damselfly females showing the variable nature of their markings....

Intermedia.....

fulvipes......

Close up......

Loads of Green Hairstreaks on the wing but very flighty (and already done to death elsewhere) so how about a Green-veined White?

Or a Brimstone doing his 'dead leaf' impression?

That's all for now....
