Venus Pool - Common Tern

A bit of 'weather' today helping deliver a Common Tern to the pool (thanks for getting the news out John Martin) and I spent an hour or so trying to get a respectable pic or two given the conditions.

It helps to have the protection of the bigger guys after being harried almost skua like by the Black-headed Gulls!

Periods of flight were interspersed with rests on one of the small islands and then a plunge or two.

Circle and try again...

There were waders too: juv Little Ringed Plover plus the 2 Common Sandpipers
