Tresco - Great Pool - Whooper Swan

Today was going to be all about catching up with a Red-breasted Flycatcher but Martin Grant and myself checked into Swarowski hide first... A distant Wood Sandpiper was the highlight and then checking out the distant white blobs, I could see a yellow bill! Yes, the St.Mary's Whooper Swan had checked into Tresco...

It wasn't made very welcome however , being tirelessly chased by the pair of Mutes to whom this part of the pool was 'home! Just when the interloper thought he could settle down and feed?

You just knew what was going to happen!

From one end to the middle and vice versa...

Several Groundhog day moments! Now, where's that Red-breasted Fly?
