Wallasey - The Liver Birds

With all those candles on my cake this week, it goes without saying I can actually remember 'The Liver Birds' sitcom! Move over Nerys Hughes, Wallasey, at the mouth of the River Mersey - featured amongst this little gathering ....

.....a new cast headed by a few (I counted 6) gorgeous Purple Sandpipers sat amongst the rocks near the lifeguard station.

They were not alone either with a 200+ mixed flock of primarily Dunlin, zzzzzzing away

Sanderling occasionally posing nicely....

As did Redshank.....

We had timed the visit to perfection as with the tide dropping, after 20 mins, back into feeding mode, they all flew....

Lady luck had returned on the scene then but would she remain for a 50 mile venture into North Wales along the coast to Llandudno and a quest for Twite???
